My work stems from my surroundings. Taking what surrounds me in the form of conversations, found objects, and places and presenting them through painting, I am captivated by structures and taxonomies whilst contemplating the impact of colour.

My process has developed an experiential element, particularly with acrylic, as each layer of what is now precise protocol is carried out, the work moves towards achieving an almost machined outcome; but within these routines the original subject matter exists in a space between focus and forgotten. Repeating layers and performing the necessary steps towards an end, I memorise forms that no longer resemble the image rendered. My paintings seek solutions to the puzzle of composition and aim to achieve an understanding between intertwining languages of colour, form and medium.
